“The Pit” Show Report by Eric Snider
On a humid Friday night, Jannus Live was splendidly packed with eager fans of Citizen Cope. The laconic singer/songwriter, backed by a bassist, drummer and two keyboardists, performed in jeans and long sleeves, sweat pouring off his face.
Fans sung every word to his introspective, folk-meets-hip-hop (with a little reggae thrown in) tunes. The joint was packed with around 1,800 people, all of them blissed out on the laid-back songs delivered by the ultra-mellow headliner.
Photographer Wayne Cathel contributed these pics. Check out a bunch more or Wayne’s website: belleairimages.com.
