One of the original country outlaws, David Allan Coe is still defiant after all these years. The heavily
tattooed (before it was cool), burly, shaggy, motorcycle-ridin’, story-tellin’, gravel-voiced artist has written and/or recorded such ornery anthems as “Take This Job and Shove It,” “Mona Lisa Lost Her Smile,” “You Never Even Called Me by My Name,” “She Used to Love Me a Lot,” “Longhaired Redneck,” “Would You Lay With Me (In a Field of Stone)” and plenty of others.
Coe has done hard time, lived in a hearse, lived in a cave, had his house seized by the IRS and released a handful of bawdy and funny underground albums, songs from which are faves in his shows. We’re proud to have David Allan Coe —outlaw, American original — on Jannus Live’s stage.
