The Great White show has been canceled. Lead singer Jack Russell is ill and unable to tour. Refunds are available at point of purchase. The following came in from Great White’s booking agent:
Jack is recovering from major surgery after suffering a perforated bowel (a medical emergency in which a hole in the bowel opens to allow its contents to empty into the rest of the abdominal cavity).
While a good many of the classic rock bands of the late 1980s limp along with barely an original member, Great White
continues to tour the world with four of the five members from its heyday of “Once Bitten, Twice Shy:” Lead singer Jack Russell, guitarist Mark Kendall, guitarist/keyboardist Michael Lardle and drummer Audi Desbrow. Bassist Scott Snyder rounds out the gritty-rocking lineup.
Great White always did more rocking than preening back in those halcyon days of spandex and poodle ‘do’s. That’s hasn’t changed a bit. If anything, the California band’s sound has grown tauter and bluesier over the decades, as evidenced by muscular latest album, Rising.
Expect a hard-hitting night of no-frills, in-ya-face rock ’n’ roll when Great White takes the stage at Jannus Live.
