Gucci Mane pics

“The Pit” Show Report by Eric Snider

We faced our biggest challenge yet at Jannus Live with Gucci Mane last night. A sold-out crowd of nearly 2,000 filled up the courtyard to see the ATL rapper give a post-jail-release performance. Still, it was surprising easy to get around the courtyard, and the upstairs balcony — while heavily populated — wasn’t overly crowded.

Not that there weren’t a few hiccups: A couple of minor scraps between testosterone- and who-knows-what-else-fueled young males took place, but were quickly quelled by security. A few kids had to be EMS’ed away. Props to security guy Kwane for picking up a hurtin’ young lady of hefty build and spiriting her to a waiting ambulance.

When I first approached Jannus from 2nd St. No. about 7:45, a panoply of flashing lights made it look like we were in for a tough night. But it turned out to be an ambulance or two on duty, and looked worse than it was.

The weirdest and funniest sight of the night came before the sun went down: Two mounted police flanked a dipshit in handcuffs, each cop reaching down and holding a shoulder of the perp. They looked as if they were waiting for a cruiser to come by and cart the guy to jail. I wish I had a camera.

All told, it appeared as if the young-skewing crowd had a good time and responded enthusiastically to Gucci Mane’s set.

Chloe Reyes took some photos for us. Check ‘em out.

Left a message about Jahfari Promotions not honoring the YOUNG JEEZY TICKETS from August 2008, I see they hurried and deleted my comment! Shall I call Jannus Live out!! for deleting the message and not informing the Promoters that they must honor tickets from past previous shows, & be sure to have more compassion when asked a question at the ticket booth ACTUALLY HE NEEDS TO FIRE THE UGLY BITCHES

The show was fun but Gucci was only on stage for about 25 min and I felt like in the time I was their, they spent more time hyping him up than he was actually on stage.. I would have felt very ripped of if I would had paid for the tickets.. Oh and that guy with the bag of money who said he was ganna throw it all out never did.
