Highway to Hell — FREE SHOW

Friday, July 1

w/Absolute Queen and just added: KISS America (opening)

FREE SHOW — No ticket needed, Gates open at 8 pm

Back a few months, we brought in this double bill of tribute bands and they crushed it, riling up the big crowd — even though it was like 40 degrees in the courtyard. For this encore performance on First Friday, we can expect a much more comfy night, and we can expect these bands to bring the heat just like the last time. Highway to Hell will be fresh off an appearance at an international AC/DC festival in Lima, Peru (June 25), so we can expect them to be even more inspired than usual!

Don’t miss the double bill of Highway To Hell: The Ultimate AC/DC Experience, and Absolute Queen: The Ultimate Tribute to Queen. It’sgonna be a heavy night combining ’70s crunch and glam, operatic high notes, skyscraper shrieks, monster beats and nasty guitar riffs. Nothing but hit after hit after hit.

Chris 11:36 pm - 18th January:

So this is what Jannus has come to? Middle aged men dressing up pretending to be someone else. PATHETIC. I don’t care how “good” they are (or aren’t) – a wanna-bee is a wanna-be. And aren’t they the ones Cowhead was talking about on the radio? I think I’ll call the show tomorrow and ask.
Keep Jannus an original venue!!!!!!

POPZ 1:12 pm - 19th January:

chris quit being a fucking cry baby u douch if u dont like it don’t go bag just say whinner

Phantom 10:58 am - 22nd January:

Chris, what the hell? What about the film industry? Is this what Hollywood has come to? Middle aged men dressing up as someone else? Do you think Arnold is really the Terminator or Russell Crowe is really Robin Hood?
Have you no brain? This is just entertainment. I see lots of original bands in Jannus and they are terrible and only 5 or 6 people are standing out there bored to death watching them. At least bars and clubs etc make money from classic tribute shows. Go back to squeezing spots in your college dorm mirror. Idiot. Ps the only wannabee here is you.

M Man 12:49 pm - 27th January:

Middle aged men playing to a crowd … c’mon Chris …. this band is great … I have seen this tribute band 10 times at all kinds of functions and they are just plain FUN and CLEAN and HAPPY … isn’t that good enough, and it’s FREE ?
Some people are hard to please … DON’T GO … the rest of us will be glad YOU stayed home !

Jeanette 2:15 pm - 27th January:

I like the band but the manager was not nice to my friends. So – where ya going Chris – I’d rather go where people are nice.

CB 1:21 pm - 31st January:

Really, Chris? What the new owners have done to Jannus is what the old owners should have done a long time ago! It’s clean, updated and a wayyyyy better venue then the old Jannus. The old owner was too busy putting rock candy up his nose. You should check it out! The VIP suites are amazing, and there are even working toilets that don’t overflow and cause the bathrooms to smell like puke! It’s about time someone took over that place. Change is good!!!!!

H2H FAN 4:13 pm - 31st January:

Chris may be a former member of the band folks, so disregard his angry jealous comments and Jeanette is a friend of his too btw.

Don’t miss this band!

steelhorselady 7:13 pm - 1st February:

Awesome band!!! I have seen AC/DC as well and i think this band is so close if I closed my eyes I couldn’t tell the difference!

Mark 10:49 am - 2nd February:

The new PA’s ( Public address speakers) which I belive to be “MartinSound” Blast it out. I’m wearing some hearing protection this time after the “The Cult” show. A wet napkin in your ear could help but I’m bringing my rifle plugs….They have cheap plugs at Home Depot. This show is going to ROCK… My Azz with be there!

nochops 1:53 pm - 3rd February:

So what happened with Big Deal?

Wendigo 4:32 pm - 4th February:

Why all the anger? If people are having fun, why hate on it? Smile, people!!!

Ramblinman 6:38 pm - 7th February:

Hey Chris you dufus, you don’t HAVE to go to the show!!!!!! just stay home & be miserable ya fuck!!!!

frederickus 6:42 pm - 11th February:

@Chris listens to Cowhead…he’s an obvious genius!!!

frederickus 6:48 pm - 11th February:

Cowhead listeners…the target demographic for MENSA!!!

AC/DC RULES 5:08 pm - 22nd June:

The posts above are from much earlier this year from the last show. Please disregard.

The band respects and likes all local Radio DJs and Cowhead has always been cool to the band for years as well as Kage and Lauren!

Jennifer Melfi 5:58 pm - 22nd June:

Why would anyone mention big deal? Thats the worst band I have ever seen. I guess the cocky lead vocalist (because he cant sing) posts remarks on his own awful bands behalf.

Danx 10:33 am - 23rd June:

These guys are main reason I go to Bike Week and Biketober Fest each year. Fuckn’-A awesome show!!!

John Urban 11:56 am - 25th June:

Without attacking anybody’s opinions, here is the deal. Everyone has a favorite band, and how many times do you actually get to see these famous bands? If lucky, maybe once every few years? So if you are an ACDC fan, wouldn’t it be nice to see a band that not only plays all the hits from your favorite band, but puts on a theatrical show and if you have any creative imagination you can squint your eyes and for a couple of hours you can enjoy the experience of watching your favorite band playing all of your favorite songs at the prime of their career? Is that so fucking bad? I personally know the guys in both Highway to Hell and Absolute Queen and they are the best musicians in Fl and put a hell of a lot of hard work and money to pull this off and they deserve all of the hard earned respect you can offer. So you can join me at the show or go to the Brass Mug or Pegasus or the State Theatre and see some original band that has to pay to play there. The choice is yours, so choose carefully.

Kristen 6:21 pm - 30th June:

Is there an age limit to get in or is it any age can get in???

Think Pink Floyd 7:16 pm - 30th June:

we would love to do a show with you guys

Think Pink Floyd has built up an enormous repertoire with
about four hours of vintage Floyd material to choose from.
And the band really has all the bases covered:
From the young Pink Floyd(1967) through “meddle” echeo’s” (1971)
”Dark Side Of The Moon” (1973), ”Wish You Were Here”
(1975) Animals (1977)”The Wall” (1979) ”A Momentary Lapse Of Reason”
(1987) and ”The Division Bell” (1994). plus much more syd and roger legendary music,
a kick ass band and a unique sound, light and film show.(((((Think Pink Floyd)))))

It'sOkay 6:10 am - 1st July:

I think the point is Jannus used to have a great line-up of acts and that seems to have exited when Jannus Landing exited. The current event schedule reminds me of the State Theatre, not what Jannus was grown from.

Jeanspants 3:02 pm - 1st July:

It’sOkay hit the nail on the head. The lineup has been poor at best since ownership changed. All the good shows now take place across the bridge. Jannus, we will pay for shows, just start to bring in some good artists and bands. You have a wonderful venue. Use it to it’s potential.

Roadie 4:57 pm - 1st July:

Chris,
Let me guess, you are one of those morons with no musical talent, whining about folks doing what you don’t have the talent or balls to do. It’s entertainment and the people who do it are timeless. Now please go to some other venue, as you are too closed minded to be at the nicer ones. :-)

jdrules 7:35 pm - 3rd July:

All I know is that dude from the crowd that Highway to Hell brought on stage to sing Ditry Deeds ROCKED IT!

Jack R. 8:43 am - 5th July:

Highway to Hell drew at least 1,000 people from what I could tell – with or without Chris.

If you don’t like the line-up, don’t go! This is the 2nd time I’ve seen them there and it’s been packed both times. I don’t think they have anything to explain or justify. They are giving the people what they wanted.

Jack R. 8:46 am - 5th July:

Jannus DID have different bands playing there before — and they went bankrupt!

the new owners have made the place LOOK better, SOUND better and they are bringing in acts that draw people, including national acts (Yellowcard and Good Charlotte played the weekend before last).

The only people who hate a good tribute band are jealous musicians that play “original” music that no one wants to hear.

It’s why State Theater also went belly-up. Nobody cares about originals. It’s just a fact.

Highway to Hell and Kiss America and Absolute Queen were GREAT! I hope they are brought back again!
