Jannus Live’s series of free summer concerts continues with What the Fest?, a six-band bill headlined by Meet Me At The Pub, out of Venice Beach, Cali, whose party-hearty sound is a SoCal blend of rock, reggae, ska and surf that plays so well in the Tampa Bay area and Florida in general.
Doors open at 5, with live music at 5;30. Here’s the performance order:
Packing out the bill are several fine Bay area bands. John Q (5:30) and the John Kelly Band are potent acoustic rock acts.
The Human Condition — a quintet led by singer/songwriter/guitartist Dean Johanesen — has become a Bay area mainstay by crafting intelligent, melodic rock with a timeless quality.
Next up is the St. Pete “reggae rock” band Burning Tree takes over, followed by the rowdy skacore band with a knockout horn section, Clearwater’s Victims of Circumstance.
It’s all capped off at 10 by Meet Me At The Pub, a band that has built a loyal following in Southern Cali and looks to expand horizons by playing their first ever Tampa Bay gig.
