Hailing from Kailua-Kona on the Big Island of Hawaii, Pepper has long enjoyed an enthusiastic reception in Florida, where balmy weather and breezy grooves are a way of life. The three Hawaiian lads — guitarist/vocalist Kaleo Wassman, bassist/vocalist Bret Bollinger and drummer Yesod Williams — will bring their loping Island-flavored rhythms, carefree hooks and rootsy vocal harmonies to a concert courtyard that has always showed them considerable love.
Pepper’s heads and hearts are in a good space for this tour. Says Yesod Williams regarding their recent and upcoming activities: “(This) is a proud moment in our career. In my eyes we’ve struck a well of essence! We’re at the place we’ve always wanted to be.”
Pepper’s bringing along a serious support act for this Jannus show. Shwayze is a beloved rap/rock duo that beautifully complements the headliner. A native of Malibu, Cali, MC Shwayze and cohort Cisco Adler lay out chill funk grooves and clever rhymes that glide into your mind and get to your hips.
