Over the years, some of the best Jannus shows have paired acts that would at first seem like strange bedfellows.
Our friends at ScotchIrish Productions have put together this intriguing bill that features Rehab — Warner Robins, Ga. alchemists who stir together hip-hop, country, Southern rock, reggae and more — and Nappy Roots, those five lovable fellas from Bowling Green, Kentucky who really know what keeping it real is all about. The group rhymes about ballin’ on a budget, hanging with friends, surviving hard times, making ends meet — the stuff of regular folk. Anti-bling.
Nappy Roots’ multi-platinum 2002 album Watermelon, Chicken & Gritz — featuring the singles “Headz Up”, “Awnaw”, and “Po’ Folks,” is considered a classic of the southern hip-hop genre .
