It’s hard to believe Snow Patrol was so broke at one point that singer Gary Lightbody had to sell his record collection to pay the rent. Fourteen years later they have sold millions of albums. Their last album, Eyes Open, was the UK’s best-seller of 2006 in the UK and sold 4.7 million copies worldwide. Their single “Chasing Cars” from the Eyes Open album had more than 100,000 radio plays in the UK, 2 million downloads in the US, and the accolade of ‘Best Song of All Time’ from the listeners of Virgin Radio.

According to Ed Sheerans (who is touring with them) website, it says they don’t even go on sale until tomorrow 1/14/12
