One of the world’s most beloved cult bands didn’t play Jannus Landing until April 14, 2007. The Flaming Lips wowed a sold-out crowd at the old Jannus Landing with a heady multi-media blend that combined grabby psychedelic pop, a dazzling light show, mesmerizing video, performance art and blast after blast of confetti that rained down on the delighted hordes in the courtyard.
‘Bout time we got another dose, huh? The Flaming Lips are coming back to blow away the new Jannus Live.
The Oklahoma City band, which formed way back in 1983, are in many respects a quintessential American success story: a quirky group of eccentrics who have always made their art their way — and have sustained a lasting success. A lot of that is the result of their multi-sensory live shows.
For those who were there, The Flaming Lips’ Bay area debut will never be forgotten. For those who weren’t there, here’s another chance.

I saw them at Bonnaroo this year and I am still feeling the reverberations from that consciousness expanding experience. I can’t wait to see them again!
Do you know who the warmup act is? Will it be Stardeath and the White Dwarves? I assume our May tickets are still good for this show.
The warm up act is called le butcherettes. on le butcherettes myspace its says there will be a few other bands as well but i have no clue if thats true or not. it would be really decent of jannus would tell us these things.
